Mobile technologies — smartphones, tablets and laptops - are changing the ways we teach and learn. Mobile learning offers opportunities for student engagement, personalization, collaboration, and anywhere, anytime access to information.
Implementing mobile learning does pose some challenges: integrating devices into instruction, network security, staff training, and updating infrastructure, to name a few. According to the Center for Digital Education 2011-2012 Digital School Districts Survey:
  • 89 percent of districts surveyed are upgrading their networks to prepare for digital content growth
  • 76 percent are upgrading network capacity to support bring-your-own-device (BYOD) initiatives
To help you better understand these issues, and develop a viable mobile learning strategy, we have developed the Secure BYOD/Mobile Learning Survival Guide. It includes best practices, design guides, offers, white papers, and other useful resources.
